Ghee Candles

Women lighting ghee candles while worshiping Nandi at the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. It was difficult to shoot in the dark crowded temple while trying to remain invisible, so as not to disturb anyone.

BTW, if you are not familiar with the word “ghee”, it is clarified butter, here being burned 
for light. If you’ve ever eaten Indian food, then you’ve probably already eaten ghee
